Edit in the Studio

§ 06 · Field notes

Questions you will probably ask.

Six things we have answered out loud at least thirty times. Saved here for the next round.

01

How is this $500 instead of $5,000?

The work that took a senior team three weeks in 2019 takes them three days in 2026 — the materials matured (Next.js, Tailwind, modern type), and an AI co-designer in your Studio carries the small edits that used to need a meeting. We pass that compression through. The site you get is hand-coded by the same kind of operators who used to charge five figures — we just don't pretend it should still take five figures.

02

Do you really hand-code every site?

Yes. Every site is a real Next.js repository, with real React components, real TypeScript. No Wix, no Squarespace, no Webflow, no page builder. You can open the repo, read the code, fork it, host it anywhere. We hand it to you as part of every launch.

03

What happens after you ship the site?

You get access to the Studio — a chat-driven AI co-designer that can re-cut sections, swap images, refine copy, draft new pages, and push them live. No second design fee, no waiting on us for small edits. We're still here for the bigger asks, but most months you won't need us.

04

Can I just take the code and host it myself?

Yes. Code ownership is the contract. We hand off the repo as part of every launch; you can host it on Vercel, Netlify, your own server, anywhere that runs Next.js. The $10–$400 / mo hosting is an option, not a lock. If you cancel later we transfer your domain to your name and shake hands.

05

How long does it actually take?

First preview lands in 3–5 business days. Most sites go from intake to live in about a week — give us 5 days to make it, plus whatever time you need to give feedback. Larger sites with >10 pages or custom integrations move to a sales conversation, not the self-serve flow.

06

Who is actually building these?

KPT Designs is one of two product lines under KPT Industries, founded by Corey Potts. The team is small on purpose — veteran operators who have run real engineering teams. Not a garage startup, not an offshore farm. Same people every time.
